The
11th
November
2019
marked
the
36th
anniversary
of
the
very
first

to

-
‘If
I

10,806,000
viewers
tuned
in
to
ITV
at
9pm
in
1983
gaining
a
respectable
21%
of
the
total viewing audience.
Almost
four
decades
on,
Auf
Wiedersehen,
Pet
is
as
popular
as
ever
holding
up
to
repeat
viewing
which
is
testament
to
the
quality
of
writing,
acting and directing of this cult television drama / comedy series.
To
date,
very
little
documented
record
exists
of
how
Britain’s
most
famous
televised
construction
site
looked
like
on
Elstree
Studios
back
lot
in
1983
prior
to
its
demolition
making
way
for
a
new
outdoor
film
set
that
would
similarly
form
the
centrepiece
to
another
of
Britain’s
most
popular
television drama programmes of all time - ‘EastEnders’.
By
analysing

local

we’ve
