The
buildings
actual
location
is
situated
on
Heidbergstraße
in
Hamburg
and
its
brick
faced
angulated
façade
is
clearly
illustrated
in
the
aerial
photograph
below
(image
39b).
You
will
note
the
prominent
flue
under
construction
in
image
39a
still
stands
almost
4
decades
later
as
circled
in
image 39b.

Although
several
scenes
were
filmed
on
location
in
Dusseldorf
in
keeping
with
the
storyline,
the
‘real’
German
building
site
(or
sites)
used
in
a
hand
full
of
close-up
scenes
together
with
many
long
distance
incidental
scenes
were in fact filmed in Norderstedt, Hamburg.
As
previously
described,
‘Set
Building
#5’
(
triva

)
imitates
similar
buildings
under
construction
during
the
early
80’s
within
the
Norderstedt
area and were used as a backdrop to several scenes throughout series 1.
